Dance When You Want to Dance

I saw the video Meghan Markle posted for the world to view. I love this display of Pregnancy Positivity!!!

As a labor and delivery, womens health,Maternal Fetal Medicine nurse,  I have seen it all.  I absolutely adore when a mama-to-be can embrace who she is and unleash that freedom of expression.

Many women have danced before Meghan Markle and many will dance after. Meghan’s video help the world see, there’s no right way to labor!

There’s no 1 way. Your labor and delivery experience is unique to you.

The main things I hope for every birth experience for mama-to-be:

I want you want to feel safe
I want you to be supported
I want you to have the freedom to labor freely.

Labor is hard–but worth it
Labor can be scary and unknown- (even if its your 5th time). I wanted you to feel well informed and knowledgeable with your options and choices.

Knowing you can do this, birth freely is priceless.Having the freedom to dance, lay still, use a birthing ball or walk around  enhances the experience.

Lean into who you are and what you want. Talk to your midwife or doctor to express the birthing experience you desire. As always:

Keeping mom safe & baby safe is always the goal!
.
In the meantime– keep dancing!
