Hello Beautiful People: The Adventure Continues

The Amazing Adventures of Pregnancy (T.A.A.P) is happy to present another blog from our Millennium Mom: Keishla .

Keishla is our “Millennium Mom ” on baby #2 , and she has shared those first nauseating weeks of pregnancy. Now, she is here to share more about who she is as the Millennium Mom……

Hello Beautiful People!

This blog is all about you getting to know me just a little more. Little known fact about me: I have Crohn’s Disease. For those of you that don’t know what that is, it is an inflammation of the digestive tract. I was diagnosed at 11 years old. Living with Crohn’s Disease hasn’t been easy. I have been in constant pain most of my life but I have some good days. The thing is, with Crohn’s disease you just NEVER know. I have to be on a strict diet because certain foods can trigger it, sometimes I follow my diet and it just still gets triggered.

When I was pregnant with my daughter my Crohn’s disease was a living nightmare. Since I have switched care from one health system to another -I feel so much better about going through this pregnancy with Crohn’s disease.  I know and work with the providers- so there is that level of trust I have with them.

I have an appointment with Maternal Fetal Medicine doctors. The Maternal Fetal Medicine doctors are also known as MFM . They treat all “high risk” pregnancies, which can include anyone that is pregnant that also have a disease /injection or if anything is wrong with your baby.

This November, I will meet with the MFM specialist and also my GI doctor will also be sitting in the room. Together, they will decide on a course of treatment for this pregnancy. I feel really secure and taken care of. So far everything has been okay with baby, just a little abdominal pain and burning.  So, I am encouraged all will continue to go well.

With the care that I get here I just feel safer and I feel like the care for my baby is actually in really great hands. Everyone, always says: each pregnancy is different. I have to say it is  crazy seeing the difference between prenatal care with my daughter and now  my son.

I hope everyone is having a great week and thank you for taking time out your day to read my post.
